Continuous theta-burst stimulation
WebFeb 24, 2024 · Theta-burst stimulation (TBS) is a form of patterned rTMS [ 1 ]. It typically involves the application of a very short (e.g., three pulses) high-frequency bursts: usually, but not always, at 50 Hz. These bursts are then repeated at theta frequency (usually 5 Hz). During continuous TBS (cTBS), stimulation is continued for 40 s in a single train. WebOct 1, 2024 · To selectively influence encoding and not retrieval, we performed continuous theta-burst TMS before participants encoded object–location associations and assessed memory after the direct effect of stimulation dissipated. Relative to control TMS and baseline memory, pIPC TMS enhanced associative memory success and confidence.
