WebApr 12, 2024 · Electro-oxidation of glycerol on Ni 3 S 2 gives high yields of formate. This anodic reaction is successfully paired with CO 2 reduction to formate. Such a process can improve economics of CO 2 reduction processes. However, we show that with 2.5 M formate present in the anolyte, the efficiency of the anodic process drops dramatically.
